🤔 Is Your PC Ready for 2026? A Deep Dive into Next Year's Biggest Games

2026 is the year we gamers are most looking forward to ⏳. A huge cluster of AAA blockbusters are set to release, with GTA 6 making a grand finale appearance 🏁. So, I've put together a list of 10 games that I personally think are the most worth keeping an eye on 👀. I wonder if everyone's computers can still handle it 💻.

🗡️️  Nioh 3

Expected release time: February 6, 2026

This is a high-intensity action game that will make you suffer all the way, but also make you stronger 💪. Set in Japan in 1622 🏯, you were supposed to become a shogun, enjoy wealth and glory 🏮. However, you are betrayed by your own younger brother 👺, who leads an army of mythical monsters to launch a surprise attack. The fraternal conflict instantly escalates into a nationwide disaster, and Japan is on the brink of destruction. In this desperate situation, you unexpectedly gain a system that allows you to travel through different time periods, battling famous monsters from history to prevent the catastrophe. The game adopts an open-area map 🗺️ for the first time , allowing you to freely explore vast landscapes across different eras ⏳. Combat retains tough enemies, low margin for error ⚠️, and deep progression ⚔️.

This is an immersive RPG blending steampunk and time-travel ⏳⚙️. The core gameplay revolves around the butterfly effect 🦋 and time travel—every small action can change the future. The game constructs a Victorian-style steampunk city filled with mechanical gears, steam power, and retro-futuristic landscapes, giving the visuals a unique aesthetic.  Explore a Victorian steampunk city 🏙️ and alter history with a time machine ⏰.

🌙  Pragmata

Expected release time: December 31, 2026

Expected release platform: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S

After multiple delays from 2021 to 2026 ⏳, this game is finally about to be released. Originally just a typical human vs. machine shooter, the developers added a unique element: an adorable android girl will be your partner 👧🤖. This android girl possesses special hacking abilities. While fighting robots, she can hack into their systems by solving puzzles, weakening their defenses. This means you'll need to control two characters simultaneously in cooperative combat, greatly enhancing the game's replayability.

Next, there are some games confirmed for 2026 but without specific release dates announced.

⚔️  Phantom Blade ZERO

Expected release platform: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5

This is a Soulslike action game independently developed by Beijing S-Game 🥋. Players will take on the role of a framed top assassin, relentlessly pursuing the mastermind behind the crime and clearing their name. The game features over 30 weapon types 🗡️, offering a fast-paced and fluid combat experience, and a rich, Chinese-style martial arts world 🏮.

🌊  Subnautica 2

Expected release platform: Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows

In the highly anticipated Subnautica 2, we play as a member of a vanguard team sent to explore a brand-new alien ocean planet 🌍🌊.As you slowly venture deeper into the ocean, the forms of creatures, ecological structures, and even your own body’s genes force you to make choices. Either abandon your human identity, modify your genes 🧬 to adapt here, or be obediently eliminated by the environment☠️.Explore with friends in 4-player co-op 👥, build bases 🏗️, and survive dynamic events like volcanic eruptions 🌋.

🏴☠️  Tides of Annihilation

Expected release platform: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S

This is a visually stunning action-adventure game. Modern London's architecture has crumbled under an alien invasion 🏙️💥, and supernatural monsters roam the subway entrances and the Thames. As the sole human survivor, you will battle these supernatural monsters and uncover their secrets in a beautifully 🎨 rendered, chaotic world.

🔫  Gears of War: E-Day

This is a third-person cover-and-shoot game that tells the origin story of the Orc invasion 🐛💀. Players will take on the role of young war hero Marcus Phoenix, fighting against the Orcs in desperate situations and nightmarish scenarios to save humanity. You'll not only fight the enemy, but also navigate chaotic evacuations and suddenly collapsing city battlefields. Fight in the crumbling city 🏗️💥 and experience the terror of humanity's first encounter with unknown creatures 😱. The game is built with Unreal Engine 5, delivering stunningly realistic graphics 🎬.

👹  Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Expected release platform: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S

Capcom’s return to the Onimusha series after 20 years ⏳. The story takes place in Kyoto during the early Edo period. An evil force called "Miasma" is corrupting the ancient capital, twisting Kyoto into a hell ravaged by phantoms (ghosts/demons). Players will take on the role of the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi 🗡️, using the "Demon Dragon Hand" 🐲 to fight monsters from another world and absorb souls to gain power and resources. The official description emphasizes "battles of blood and mud," and uses the facial model of Japanese samurai film star Toshiro Mifune as a reference for Miyamoto Musashi, making players feel as if they are in a samurai movie 🎎.

So, the above ten games are the upcoming AAA blockbusters for 2026, with brand-new graphics and engines. I wonder if your computer 🖥️ can still handle them.

Beyond just PC hardware, 2026’s blockbuster lineup also calls for upgrading your gaming peripherals to fully immerse yourself in the action. A high-precision controller with customizable triggers and haptic feedback will let you feel every sword strike in Nioh 3 or every explosion in GTA 6 with heightened realism. For horror fans diving into Resident Evil: Requiem, a wireless headset with 3D spatial audio will amplify the tension, letting you hear every distant creak or approaching threat with pinpoint accuracy. Even small accessories like controller charging docks will ensure you never pause mid-marathon session of Subnautica 2 co-op to hunt for a charger, while a sturdy console stand or portable dock will keep your setup organized and ready for quick platform swaps between PC and PlayStation 5. Whether you’re fine-tuning your rig or stocking up on peripherals, 2026’s games are as much about the gear as they are about the gameplay—so now’s the time to prep your full gaming setup for the year ahead.
